Buying Instagram followers
In recent days, there has been a lot of talks
on the some and blog side about bought some followers, i.e. practically
specifically paid Instagram followers.
This issue has been raised initially in
particular, the Pink Heels blog Maiju, which is not only blogged about it, but
also made Woman, a middle-aged? with Tiia, who writes a blog, on the topic for
her YouTube video Aunt Tubetta.
The topic has now been raised in several other
blog posts and some channels, and many bloggers, and especially, of course, the
Instagram man, has taken a stand on it by declaring that they themselves do not
accept purchased some followers. Sanni, for example, also posted on the Candy Day
blog recently.
I find it absolutely amazing that we have now
started talking more about the subject, so I would also like to take this
opportunity to talk about it a bit.
Namely, in recent days, there has been a lot
of talk about the topic specifically among influencers and raising the opinions
of opposing influencers, but through my work, I also have experiences of how
much influencers filled with purchased some followers approach companies.
If the concept of purchased Instagram
followers is unfamiliar, then the phenomenon is that the Instagram account is
bought purely for a fee, so that the Instagram account looks bigger than it is.
You can also buy likes and even comments for
account posts. So you pay some to someone and an agreed number of likes, likes or
comments appear in your account. The purchase of these aims to make it easier
for companies to approach companies in the hope of free products when they seem
to be Insta-fame based on succession figures.
Yes, this is really being done and a lot. And
those likes are by no means the result of computer programming, but you can
even find wild “sweatshops” in poor countries, where instead of sewing clothes,
employees like updates and keep track of accounts. The topic has been covered
by e.g. Yle in this interesting article.
I am not responsible for the public relations
of our company at work, but I still get to see this phenomenon at regular
intervals. Luckily for us, PR matters are handled by my excellent skilled
colleague, who has quite sensitive horns on the subject and extensive knowledge
of the subject.
So I dare say that at least thanks to him, we
have never sent packages to people whose followers are made up of fake and
bought followers. (As always with hockey, it's great to get to work with
colleagues who know their job well and therefore learn a lot from them
themselves!)
It's very easy for me to find an account
filled with Instagram followers purchased in Finland. Even so easy that now
that the topic surfaced, I felt it was unbelievable that that scam could go
through in Finland for a company.
In Finland, it is actually difficult to get a
large number of Instagram followers, unless you are really known for something,
which means that becoming an Insta family is difficult. If it succeeds, then
such genuine Insta-fame accounts will already be identified.
Why would a person have so many followers?
There are already twenty thousand Instagram
followers in Finland. If the account has more followers than this and it is not
a super-celebrity, there is usually something in the content of the account
that also attracts foreign followers.
Typically, it can be exaggeratedly a beautiful a person who takes great pictures or an account filled with delicious food
creations, decorating stuff, travel photos, etc. - that’s exactly what you want
to follow on Instagram.
When you look at the Instagram profile, you
can see from the information whether the person was originally familiar from
YouTube, their own blog or website, whether it is a real star/someone else in
some way a celebrity, or whether there is any mention in the profile of why
people would follow him.
Usually, people link to their own site/channel
or tell why they are known or even state in their profile information that they
are a person of publicity. If the guy is known, you can certainly find
something to talk about by google.
If the profile only says that the 25-year-old girl in question is spiced with emoticons and who loves to do something, then
it is less often enough to get twenty thousand real followers in Finland.
Sometimes a large number of followers without
any indication of awareness outside of Instagram can indeed be explained by the
fact that the account has great pictures and Followers have come with them.
Sometimes a large number of followers may have been brought in by just one
world-renowned image, with which the account has garnered real followers. Yes,
you usually realize this immediately, because you see the authenticity.
However, if the account is full of average
photos or there are even at most only a few dozen of them, you usually know
that twenty thousand people are not really interested in the life of a Finnish
tavern - sorry now only. At that point, you can already start to smell the
burning roar.
